You can find pastry shops just about anywhere in Europe and almost always walk out with something tasty, but these shops in Paris were a step above the rest because of their incredible variety. Every pastry is something totally different and I felt my sweet tooth being pulled in ten directions at once. I was always asking "What's that?" and "How does it taste?" The shop owners appreciated my enthusiasm and kindly helped me with my nonexistent French skills. Don't leave Paris without this experience. Oh, and for something like this you definitely want to be at least a few blocks away from the nearest tourist trap--the difference in quality, service and price can be startling.
