Fellow world traveler, UTSOA colleague, Angeleno, motorcyclist, and general iconoclast John Zapf dropped in for a few days. A year ago John started his own architectural rendering studio,
Pirate Design. Clever as always, he has set up ten computers back home--a "render farm"--to crunch out his high quality renderings while he travels to Germany and elsewhere to meet face-to-face with his clients. He has landed many jobs recently (probably too many) and while I was at work he slaved away at my kitchen table. In the evening, though, there was still time enough to see the city, meet a few friendly Danes, and have more than a few mind-wrenching hyper-cynical conversations.
